(I just ordered a Powermatic 3+ it will be here next week) It leaves a little bit of tobacco sticking out the end , then I pull a little bit of that out , tap the filter end three or four times to pack it down, then I pinch the ends over so tobacco won't fall out

However, both are possible, and both are well worth the effort
