It is interesting to me that I chose to paint nudes after a long interruption to my regular painting practice. It was, on the surface of my consciousness, a decision made simply as a challenge. Yet the symbolism of vulnerability and emotional rawness depicted in nudity, cannot be denied. Additionally, I chose a pose that communicates distress. My misfortune had
