Photographed by Allen & Rowell of Boston. Kuroda was a Japanese samurai of the late Edo period, who served as the last daimy of Fukuoka han, a Japanese domain of the Edo period. Nagatomo Kuroda, along with fellow samurai Takuma Dan, and Kentar Kaneko, on orders of their samurai lord, arrived in Massachusetts from Fukuoka, Japan
